Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteers are the backbone that makes Meals on Wheels possible in Contra Costa County. Meals on Wheels is in continual need of new volunteer drivers to fill more than 350 positions each month that deliver meals to 1,200+ clients on our 70+ daily routes in local communities throughout the county. Other volunteer opportunities become available from time to time as well.

Volunteer Drivers

Meals on Wheels has Volunteer Driver openings in communities throughout the county. Individuals, families, groups and service clubs provide the drivers who deliver our meals to more than 1,000 clients each weekday. Volunteers typically drive one or more days per week, delivering up to 16 meals per day. The time commitment is about 1½ hours from start to finish, and volunteers are trained by an experienced driver before being asked to deliver a route on their own.
